2003     Construction of a direct seed, small plot research drill to evaluate agronomic management systems for direct seeding Canola in the Pacific Northwest.  Pacific Northwest Research Program, one year, $7,000.

2003     Determine growing degree-days are necessity to establish a winter canola crop that will better survive winter conditions.  Pacific Northwest Canola Research Program, two years, $20,000.

2003     Screening high oleic acid, low linolenic acid winter canola for adaptability to environments in Idaho, Washington, Oregon, and Montana.  Pacific Northwest Canola Research Program, two years, $20,000 (with Dr.'s Wysocki and Johnson, $40,000).
